long & lazy weekend
Apr. 10th, 2005 05:43 pmDespite having to work Friday morning (and needing to do all sort of important research-y things), my weekend essentially started Thursday night.
This week's featured concert was Harry and the Potters -- truly, the greatest wizard rock band ever to grace the Blanchard stage. They embraced their geekiness and took the stage with utter seriousness, yet maintained a perfect awareness of just how silly they were being. Plus, the audience was great: not one, but two Mary Sues entered the costume contest (one was Evil), and my erstwhile firstie Patti won for her Moaning Myrtle costume (fake book on a headband, a la the old-school arrow-through-the-head gag). If any other East Coasters have the opportunity to check out HatP for free, definitely do it. A good time will be had.
Friday and Saturday nights,
sadai's room is apparently my new favorite place on campus. I trekked over at midnight on Friday to watch The OC, and then came over even later last night to hang out and watch the drunken antics. I'd forgotten how fun it was just to be tipsy and silly, and have a good time. And spending the night on the floor was actually a good plan, as it forced me to wake up, have breakfast, and try to accomplish things with my day. So far, not bad: I've started typing up my bibliography for tomorrow, although I need to do a lot more reading before I can really formulate my paper topic.
Honestly, I think the gorgeous weather has made my happier than anything else. I'm just more motivated and ready to go when it's sunny out. Here's hoping it holds long enough to get me started on finals.
