e_clareIt's unbelievably nice being back on campus. I'm still just basking in the joy of just being here. ejberman's play isn't off to the winning start we'd hoped; she came down with some weird stomach thing and is still recovering from her holiday sinusitis. Joy. However, we've successfully read through the play, we're starting to nail down dates, props, and necessary crew, and after tonight, are generally on the right track. Major down-side: we had to add weekend rehearsals, so it looks like I won't make it to NYC after all this weekend or next. Poopy.
In other news...there's not much other news, honestly. banannagoats and I are back in fine form, spending last evening watching Eternal Sunshine and having a slumber party in her room after it was over. (Ham Hall is entirely too far away from the Green.) I accomplished a few errands, re-networked my computer, made a half-assed prompt book (kmmatero would be so ashamed), and picked up the Official Stage Manager Keys. Success.
And then I missed The Amazing Race tonight, and I wanted to cry. Damn you, CBS. You keep shuffling your schedule around. I did get to see Ashlee Simpson "performing" an Orange Bowl half-time show -- good God, that girl is a truly awful singer. By the end of her song, her in-ear monitors were dangling -- and she just sounded worse. Couldn't carry a tune in a sack, etc. Still, I'm strangley fascinated by the way that her career just keeps on going. It's like I can't look away. (The other fun part of her set was the dancing. She had football-player and cheerleader back-up dancers -- footballers wearing helmets, cheerleaders in 'punky' black and white uniforms. Ashlee herself was wearing a black and white outfit with some sort of a tail, made of various shades of pink silk scarves. What kind of a fashion statement do we think she was going for, there?)
Cheesy pop culture is oh so much fun.
