Ack. LJ ate my entry. Trying again. No wonder I'm always behind on my work for real classes.

My lovely boss at the Quarterly gave me the morning off upon seeing the crazed gleam of "I Haven't Finished My Paper That's Due Today (Or Started the One for Tomorrow, Neither)" in my eye. She generously let me take advantage of the free printer in the office to print out a draft, and sent me on my way. Now I'm camped out in the cramped but blessedly free-of-people Skinner computer lab until class at 11 o'clock. A quick recap of my weekend, because the world needs to know.

[livejournal.com profile] bacca359 was surprised to find me in her bed Sunday morning. Bacca spent the night elsewhere, Ham is the ends of the earth at 4 am, and her roommate was generous enough to offer [livejournal.com profile] banannagoats and myself a place to crash after the post-Drag Ball festivities. Thanks dear!

And oh, what festivities they were. What was nearly the best Drag Ball ever was only restrained from achieving total greatness by its lack of actual drag queens (hopefully, this will be remedied next year). In its favor, the music was good, everyone was dressed up and fabulous, and the male to female ratio (clothing aside) was among the best I've seen at recent MHC events. At some point, I was talked into exchanging my comfy, secure stage manager costume for a miniskirt. (Sue me -- it was easily accessible, and I came straight from strike at the theatre. At least it was a skirt and tank top, not the pants and a sweater I usually wear.) I respected the (obviously better) judgment of nfcheng and Goats as Frat Max, and ended up pleased with the result. Lots of compliments, managed to avoid frostbite en route back to Chapin, and it was all good. Cheers, ladies.

The after-party back in Wilder turned into a hobbitpile on [livejournal.com profile] auntyem's bed, due to a dearth of available corkscrews. (Upside: we now have wine for next weekend and J-show -- huzzah!) It was two hours of classic sleep-over-style gossip, on boys and girls and everything in between. That may well be my actual favorite part of the night -- long, rambling, shooting-the-shit sessions are entirely too rare on this busy campus.

Sunday was a wash, except for editing the most excellent College Dems op-ed piece for Goats -- I'm afraid you're on your own for whittling it down further, since academic duty calls.

Hooray for Monday. Here's hoping I make it through tomorrow.

That whole ordeal sounded really awful. But it could have been worse -- I mean, it's February, at least, so there aren't that many really BIG movies coming out.

You certainly earned your day off!
