May. 17th, 2005 06:00 pmI'm rapidly losing my voice. The good news is,
mirror_dancer and I are developing an interpretive dance language to get me through it (and yes, I consider it a collaborative effort, because you're five million times more graceful than I'll ever be). The bad news is, I really need to be better by Friday so I can do my job. And also, I can't stop talking long enough to let myself recover.
Tonight's drunken Star Wars extravaganza will be fun -- but also sad, because of my diminshed power of snark. Congestion + voice loss /= the funny.
And yes, even though I'm sick, I will STILL be at the 12:01 am showing of Revenge of the Sith. 'Cause I'm a hardcore nerd like that.
EDIT, midnight: Sadly, there was no drunken Star Wars tonight -- damn you, local video stores! And also, pooh on Anna for deciding on Sunday that she wanted to see part II before part III. I need more notice than that, woman! (No real ill wishes for you, 'Goats -- I just hope your head feels better.)
Happily, we finished watching Pride and Prejudice instead. And there was more wine, once again, and we took over Hooker auditorium, so enjoyed the luxury of the big screen. Quite fun -- although I did miss my chance to laugh uproariously at Ep. II dialogue.
"I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. [Touching her arm.] Here everything is soft and smooth.
Three years later, I still crack up.
