...especially when you have to spend the entire day at work. And Fahrenheit 9/11 still hasn't come in yet, so I'll have to wait until Thursday night to see it. The employees are driving each other crazy, waiting for it. I thought I was going to break something when the distributor delivery turned out to be Two Brothers (aka That Tiger Movie) instead of 9/11.
The day did bring more than the normal amount of excitement, though: first, the projectionist locked me out of the building, so I was late to work despite leaving my house a good five minutes early. Then, I discovered that this cool girl I went to high school with is working the Ben & Jerry's attached to the theater--small world. Later in the afternoon, a customer reported that one of the trash cans out front was "smoldering" and starting to smoke rather profusely. And finally, someone delivered a 9/11 one-sheet and trailer...and the one-sheet for the Donnie Darko re-release. (News to me: we'd be fools not to get it, but this was the first I'd heard about it. Still debating whether to call dibs on the poster.)
In all the excitement last night, forgot to mention my coffee date with
newredshoes yesterday afternoon. 'Twas wonderful, as always--did you manage to pick up the People? (Speaking of which: banannagoats, we must secure a copy of this issue for future man-walling. Take note. ;) ) I think a day trip (maybe even an overnight trip---ooooh) to Athens is in order very, very soon. Will have to explore options.
In other, completely unrelated news: I'm developing an awesome middle-school style crush on one of the ushers. Doofus was two hours late for his shift today, though, which robbed me of the chance to make pleasant conversation and added to the depressing boredom of a slow weekday afternoon. (Did give me plenty of time to write a letter--three pages!--to alcavana, who's trapped in South Hadley. Hi, dear!) Good times. :)
