Just got back from the Guster/Ben Folds concert at Tower City in Cleveland. 5 hours of line-sitting, 3 hours of driving and a sunburn later...and I'VE MET BEN FOLDS. WOOOO-HOOOOO! (Yeah. Still a little buzzed from the drive home. Can you tell?) It was an AWESOME show--even more awesome than Tuesday--and it was totally worth all the driving and the sitting and the burning. Totally.

To answer your most pertinent questions: no, I didn't sell him a pretzel; surprisingly, he's not as short as you'd think (taller than Nathan Lane); [livejournal.com profile] krikkit911, the song was "Army" (hope you liked it! I was too slow to get it out in time for "Kate"); and Rufus' footwear of choice is silver-sequined flip-flops ([livejournal.com profile] newredshoes, I've got a Rufus/Ben photo with your name on it).

My ears are still muzzy and my voice may be gone when I wake up. Too bad I'm supposed to answer phones at work tomorrow. :)

In other news: While the numbers may be enough to illustrate Fahrenheit 9/11's success this weekend, I've got first-hand experience.

Monday: Theater announces we'll be getting the movie after the arthouse sells out its midnight show
Wednesday: I take more calls for 9/11 reserved seats than for Spider-man 2.
Thursday night, 12:01 am: The arthouse has somehow oversold all three of their screens; every chair in the building gets pulled into a theater to break fire codes seat the rest of the audience.
Friday afternoon, 2 pm: Theater owner announces that we'll be adding two screens for the 8 o'clock showing, as the arthouse has sold out. All three 8 pm screens sell out.
Friday evening, 8:30 pm: General manager changes final-round schedule to add two more screens for 10:40 pm, as well. The 10:40 shows are filled to about 80% capacity (excellent for us on a late night).

The public reaction to this film has been incredible...but I'm crashing. My review and more details later.

Holy moley! And eee, Rufus with silver shoes! And now... back to reorganizing the 10,000,000,000,000,000 books that are both in my room and have come home from college with me. *sneezes and falls over*
