Wow. So. Will be on a plane in 12 hours, on my way to Bath. Still need to finish packing (just physically fitting things in the suitcase; have finished laundry, etc.) but am pretty much ready.
In other news, saw Garden State Friday with Jackie and Tatyana. The Grandview didn't open its doors until 15 minutes before showtime, so there was a decent-sized crowd lined up in the rain. That's dedication, folks. Disappointingly, we
employees had to actually purchase tickets--but it was worth it, in the end.
Natalie Portman acts, we fought good-naturedly over who gets Zach Braff, the soundtrack kicks ass, and it looks pretty. What more could I want? I had some plot quibbles, true, but the overall effect was positive. Have seen several comparisons drawn to Eternal Sunshine, which I still think is the better movie--but I also didn't have 5 months of built-up expectations going into that one. GS held up better than most.
Next post will be (god knows when) from England. Yay!
