Get your snark while you still can, folk: the Fametracker forums are closing, as of March 15th.

Years, people. Years on those boards. The wonderful posters provided me with hours of entertainment and snark, and I'll miss it dearly. Fametrackers got me hooked on fanfic. We shared the joys of YA fiction, literary crushes (Will Stanton! Gilbert Blythe! Dickon! Mr. Darcy!), upcoming movies, Elijah Wood (and the entire LOTR cast HoYay, really), Celebrity Baby Names, dumb quotes, and most every interesting party fact I've ever shared. FT even led me to Movies in 15 Minutes, and supplied me with half my icons (thanks, thelovehater!), and honestly, 90% of the cool things I found on the internet before I discovered LJ came from FT or FT-related links.

Awww...good times.

Things are still up in the air -- a lot of people are relocating to The Lotus Position (http://www.thelotusposition.com/) at least temporarily (http://forums.fametracker.com/index.php?showtopic=4351&view=findpost&p=530737); there's also a Yahoo group, Displaced Snark (), where people are convening to figure out a future plan of action.

I doubt I'll end up following over to the relocation, as it's been ages since my last post there, too. It's more the principle: it was nice knowing that I could always have someplace to go for (mostly) high-quality discussions of pop culture.
