On the eve of Super Tuesday, I found this blurb from the Columbus Dispatch interesting.

"New campaign-finance figures for January show that neither of the leading Democratic presidential candidates exactly found a gold mine in Ohio.

Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry got about $23,000 in the month — which ranked 22 nd among the states and Washington, D.C., that gave him money. His chief rival, Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, took in a little more than $10,000, his 26 th-best state, according to the nonprofit firm Dwight L. Morris and Associates.

To date, Kerry has received about $112,000 and Edwards $245,000 from Ohio.

The January amounts, of course, cover the opening contests in this year’s campaign, caucuses in Iowa and the primary in New Hampshire. Totals for the month for other Democratic hopefuls: former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, $26,210; retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark, $13,550; Rep. Dick Gephardt of Missouri, $13,550; Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich of Cleveland, $8,127; and Sen. Joe Lieberman, $664. Ohio continues to be one of President Bush’s top donor states; the $134,697 given in January kept Ohio as his fourthbest state. So far Bush has garnered about $5.6 million from Ohio." (emphasis mine)

*shudder* And people wonder why I went to school out-of-state.

My absentee ballot came today. Yay! It's on its way back to OH. Other small personal victory: I stayed awake in Italian. Go me! *g*

Gotta love being a GOP stronghold. That along with Taft banning gay marriage just -- gyah.
