Yeah, there's all kinds of crap on that list. In the beginning I thought it was going to wind up being all horror films. I think people just looked for crappy series and slapped them on. *shakes head* And I think you should see City of God and The Usual Suspects...if you lived near me I'd force you to come over tonight and watch one of them.

city of god is an amazing movie. not only is the cinematography beautiful, but the story is great too. good call on that one.

City of God has been on my "to see" list for eons, especially since I saw Pixote (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082912/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnx0dD1vbnxmYj11fHBuPTB8cT1waXhvdGV8bXg9MjB8bG09NTAwfGh0bWw9MQ__;fc=1;ft=20;fm=1) for a class -- different director, similar style/intent.

(Usual Suspects has been on the list, too, but I've been spoiled for the Keyser Soze revelation already, so I keep putting it off.)

If it makes you feel better, I was spoiled for that film too. And actually, the menu on the DVD sort of gives it away. I'll explain further if you ever do see the film. I just like the way it's told. I still rewatch even though I obviously know the twist.

Make sure to mention in your journal if you see either of these. I still wish you lived closer. Oh yes, and look at my shameless overuse of my City of God icon.

Yeah it was a great movie! I sadly don't know anyone else who's actually seen it so...I'm glad you left a comment! The Usual Suspects was a much more popular film in the States...still good though. I'm fairly sure it won best screenplay and for good reason.
